We had a super time, the chalet has everything you need and loads of extras, hosts are very friendly. So rare can you find a place that has such peace and tranquility and surrounded by beauty. We have walked for miles, around every corner a fantastic view. Hopefully we will return, thank you. Rob, Tracy, Abi, Jack & Eddie and Murphy the dogs, Scarborough, 29th October 2011.
A joy to stay here, very well equipt chalet with many extras thought of by the very friendly hosts who go above and beyond to ensure their guests feel welcome. Would love to stay again and recommend strongly to others. We felt we were lucky with the weather and got out and about loads. Loved the walk to Scarp beach, day on beach here, tour of Harris, trip to Lewis and standing stones, blackhouse village. Recommend climb up Beinn Dubh fantstic views. Thank you for a wonderful week, we are having a fantastic time here. We had a fabulous first day over at the beach opposite Scarp, glorious sunshine and we were by ourselves!! I am also struggling not to buy lots of Harris Tweed! I hope that we will be visiting again, I will definitely be recommending Creagach Chalet to my friends. Laura & Andrew, Ambleside 24th September 2011.
Thank you so much for a great week, Harris is beautiful, the chalet is wonderful and so well equipt, thank you so much for your warm welcome and lovely scones. We've had a lovely time and will definetly miss Harris. The views are outstanding, thanks again for looking after Printa the dog and making our stay pleasant. To mearly be able to witness this setting is a pleasure, add to this the accommodation the trip has become a delight. Polly, Sarah, Ian, Arthur and Printa the dog, Essex 13th August 2011.
Harris is just as beautiful as we had remembered and we have enjoyed showing our oldest son his namesake. We had read the visitor comments on your website and hoped that it wasn't too good to be true, but having spent the week here we too have been captured by it's magic. You have been so welcoming we have been impressed with your clean and practical chalet, thanks for accomodating Darcy too. The cliff walk to the beach overlooking Scarp is a must I'm sure lots claim this but in the right weather it is the best beach in the world. This is really a fantastic spot and a really well adapted chalet with excellent hosts. Thank from us all. Gideon, Gaynor, Harris, Carroeg, Neven and Darcy Dog. Gwent, South Wales, 6th July 2011.
What a wonderful place, thanks for sharing it. We had a great time went hiking, explored beaches and saw the butt of Lewis, Carloway Broch and Callanish Standing Stones - all this in the best weather we ever had when we were in Scotland. We stayed at Hushinish Bay for hours on end, Scarista Beach impressed us with it's sand and Caribbean colours and above all this, are the big skies and Silence around you, it's a dream holiday for us. Thank you for delicious bread, scones and jam and for all your kindness during the week, we felt really welcome, friendly hosts, a wonderful chalet, a stunning location - nobody could wish for more. Heike, Bernd, Ben, Nick Wettstein, Berlin, Germany July 30th 2011.
Our week seemed to be lasting forever and now has suddenly gone! I wish we'd booked for two! we have had a wonderful time and are already planning our next visit to Creagach Chalet. Had a great day circumnavigating South Harris with delicious homemade soup and huge slabs of cake at the Skoon Art Cafe and seal watching in the bays, but our favourite days have been spent exploring the coves and beaches here, saw a grey seal under the sea cliffs, golden and ringed plovers, lots of deer and an otter in a bay near the Castle. The chalet is so comfortable and cozy to come back to. We've had breakfast outside everyday and Gins on the beach watching the sun set. Thank you Dotty and Christine for delicious scones and bread and for thinking of all those things that we forgot, the eggs were fantastic best breakfasts! will definatley be geting our bookings for next year, thank you so much Jo & Eoghan, London, April 30th 2011.
Thanks for such a warm and driendly welcome to a lovely chalet in a beautiful spot. We've all had a relaxing, peaceful (despite the efforts of the children) and enjoyable week, and what weather! who would have thought the children would be swimming in the Ocean in April! the beach opposite Scarp and the cove just round from the main beach at Huisinis were both great. Huiseabhal Mor behind the chalet, a good walk saw lots of deer and Golden Plover! wish we could stay longer. Alastair & Gillian Clarkson, Edinburgh April 17th 2011.
Great body boarding on Ocean off the cover round from Huisinis bay, amazing sunsets with the sun turning really red one day, lots of wildlife around Huisinis, Sea Eagle, Ravens, Gannets, Merlin hunting Starlings (an incredible sight) Golden Plover and deer, Jamie Clarkson Aged 12.
I like the animals, Freya Clarkson Aged 7.
I liked all the lambs, Eilidh Clarkson Aged 10.
It has been lovely to meet you, you have been so kind to us! Thank you for allowing us to stay in your cosy chalet. Five of us managed to live ere very happily for a week. The children have been won over by the magic of this place, you are right Dotty it really is all here. Seeing Stags and even an otter up close was really special, a reminder of another world, Hope to see you again. Shona & Jon by card, London April 10th 2011.
Christine made us feel at home with a warm and friendly welcome and this set the tone for our holiday on Harris, the fresh baked scones and jam were delicious, Dotty & Christine have thought of everything to make our stay as cosy and comfortable as possible. The weather has been mixed but has not stopped us having a great time. Tara the dog has had a mad time on the beaches. Acommodation was very clean thanks for that too. Have a fantastic Summer, 5 star self catering. Graeme, Maureen, Caroline & Heather, Aberdeenshire, 3rd April 2011.
Been wet and windy but the chalet's nice and cozy & it's great just looking across the bay and watching the big waves coming in. The weather cleared and had a wonderful day in the hillsup the track from Amhuinnsuidhe climbing through Tirgon Mor (what a view from the summit) Sron Ullaval, Oreval and Cleisaval before the mist closed in, saw a pair of Golden Eagles and what an amazing starry sky that night. Thanks for everything 5 star self catering. Andrew and Maggie, Fort William, March 8th 2011.

Fabulas little chalet surrounded by beautiful countryside. the beach is so relaxing and the colours ( that change from minute to minute) are gorgeous. Autum is my favourite and the browns and the golds of the scenery combined with the sound of the waves is breathtaking. Thank you so much for being so welcoming! to arrive to still warm homemade scones and bread was fab! the chalet is warm and cosy the beds so comfy! truly a little bit of paradise and so close to all the wildlife- we've seen so many herons and birds of prey, herd (and saw) the deer the handsome stag so close was amazing.we are so glad we came- and thank you for sharing. Karen, Perthshire, 5th November.
As they say in a famous lager advert... "This is probably the best holiday cottage in the world" Thanks so much for the warm welcome, fresh baked bread and scones were a real treat. Never stayed anywhere where the host has actually taken the time to collect sticks for the dog before, Maddie says thank you so much Dotty (lick). The walk over to the beach overlooking Scarp is a real gem and has seriously got us considering a move back to the Island. In short LOVED IT, will definetly be back, thanks again for your super hospitality, this chalet is a real find. Sarah, Ed and Maddie, Newcastle upon Tyne, October 31st 2010.
Sharing this fabulous location with you has been a real privilege. Mother Nature has laid on a new spectacular show everyday, with the changing light making the scenery seem as alive as the myriad of wildlife we've been lucky enough to see. Highlights include the stunning walk to the beach opposite Scarp and the hike through the Glens to emerge at the castle, seeing basking sharks just metres away from us on the beach, Golden Eagles, seals, divebombing gannets and so many different birds that we've taken up a new hobby! We have stayed in many many cottages, but have never recieved such a warm welcome! fresh baked bread and scones, beat that! All the family went out of their way to make our stay special. The location is just fantastic, saw a pod of whales from the window. The isolation and tranquility made for a most relaxing holiday, while Jack and Francis, (11 & 9) climbed, explored and swam to their hearts content. Best of all, our border terrier Smudger had a fantastic stay. We only had a week but became enchanted with the Isles. We will return, and will stay longer. Thank you so much Geof, Nichola, Francis & Jack. 14th August 2010.

Jack Mira Berkeley, Fredinia NY, 2nd June 2010.
Great antidote to the hurly burly of a working life, if you are feeling fit and adventurous the ultimate getaway walk is from near the power station up and over to Loch a Ghlinne and on to Hushinish. golden eagles, deer, terns nesting on an islet in the loch and one or several cuckoos all along the route. hard going at times map reading important 3.5 hours. well worth it especiallyfor the paddle at the end. otherwise just take time to breath the clean air and recharge the batteries in this magical timesless place. no need to rush it will all be waiting for you when you return. Great hosts and very comfortable hideaway. We will be back. Nick & Liz Hayward, Northumberland
